Lakeside Skate Park, opened in
September of 2004,
is a project under the
umbrella of Watkins Glen Promotions. Watkins Glen Promtions (www.watkinsglen.com/promotions) is a 501c3 corporation operated by a board of volunteers.
The Lakeside Skate Park Committee is a volunteer group that recognizes the need for a recreational facility in
Schuyler County that meets the needs of the youth-athlete who is motivated toward the individual sports of skateboarding,
in-line skating and bmx biking.
It is the mission of the committee to provide the youth of Schuyler County with a
healthy activity and opportunity for recreation by involving the youth, parents, community
leaders and volunteers in the fundraising, design, construction and preservation of the
Lakeside Skate Park.
Sketch plans for the park, located at Clute Park, Rt 414, Watkins
Glen, were developed by Hunt Engineers Architects Surveyors www.hunt-eas.com of Horseheads, NY.
